1. Scope and operator
This policy applies to the GutC iPhone app and optional Apple Watch app operated by Hédéonix, represented by Yeonsun Shin.
GutC is a personal journal for remembering and reviewing user-entered information about metabolic-health medication therapy and routine health checks. It does not require a GutC account or sign-in to a proprietary server.
2. Information stored on the device
GutC stores information the user enters, including a name or nickname, goals, treatment schedules, medication and labeled dose, prescribing provider, meals and hydration, wellbeing such as fatigue or abdominal pain, bowel and urine observations, weight and waist measurements, optional menstrual context, lab results, treatment expenses, insurance or support notes, and receipt images in app-private storage.
Cycle estimates are reference calculations based on user entries and are not diagnostic. Only the minimum information needed for the next schedule and scene is copied to the widget container.
3. Apple Health
With permission, GutC reads shared weight, waist circumference, BMI, blood pressure, blood glucose, and optional menstrual-flow data for display alongside the journal. Apple Health values read by GutC are not copied into the GutC database, restorable backup, or CSV.
Only when the user separately enables writing does GutC save blood-pressure or blood-glucose values entered in GutC to Apple Health. Permissions can be changed in iPhone settings. Deleting GutC records does not delete Apple Health originals or copies already saved there.
4. Apple Watch and widgets
The optional Watch app receives only what its features need, such as short user-defined medication prompts and times, the next injection time, remaining pen count for refill planning, a user-created travel plan, today’s meal and hydration summary, and unsent quick entries.
Watch entries transfer device-to-device to the paired iPhone without passing through an operator server. Apple Health originals, expenses, lab results, prescribing providers, and receipt images are not copied to Watch. Medication details are hidden by default on widgets and Lock Screen notifications.
5. External transfers and third parties
GutC currently contains no proprietary health-data server, advertising SDK, behavioral analytics SDK, or data-sale feature. Health entries are not used for advertising, targeting, or data mining.
Purchases and the free trial are processed by Apple StoreKit and the App Store. The operator does not receive or store payment-card details, Apple Account passwords, or verification codes.
6. Backups, CSV, and Photos
A restorable full backup is encrypted with a user-supplied password using AES-GCM and authenticated for integrity. The operator does not collect the password or hold a recovery key. Legacy plaintext JSON backups can be imported only after an explicit warning.
CSV is human-readable plaintext. Both exports may contain sensitive records, and the user chooses where to save or share them. If receipt-album storage is enabled, the Photos copy may sync under the user’s iCloud Photos settings and is not removed by deleting all GutC health information.
7. Retention and deletion
User-entered records and settings remain on the device until the user deletes them. Bowel and urine entries without unusual findings may be removed after 30 days; entries with symptoms, odor observations, or notes are excluded from this cleanup.
Settings provides full backup, CSV export, and deletion of GutC health information. App deletion, device damage, or reset can cause record loss, so users should create a backup when needed. GutC has no membership account to delete. In-app deletion does not remove an Apple Account, App Store transaction, Apple Health original, or Photos copy.
8. Safeguards and user choices
Apple data protection is applied to app, widget, and Watch storage. Portable full backups use encryption and tamper detection. HealthKit permissions, medication-name visibility, receipt-album storage, and Apple Health writing remain user-controlled.
Do not attach a full GutC backup, Apple Health export, Apple Account password, or verification code to a support request. Share only the app version, iOS version, displayed support code, and approximate time of the issue.
9. Children, changes, and contact
GutC is not designed for children. If data practices or features change, this policy and the App Store privacy answers will be updated.
